Land for Peace
Gary Cooperberg
October 10, 2007
If one would ponder the incredible efforts to bring peace to our planet by pressuring Israel to self-destruct, he could not help but come to the conclusion that the world has gone mad. Israel is one of the tiniest nations in the world. It has nearly no natural resources and is located far from the USA and most of Europe. What exactly is it that makes people think that should Israel simply give the keys to the PLO and disappear that the result would be peace on Earth? The fact is that the very existence of Israel is the only reason that Arab states are not warring with one another. Their hatred for Israel is even greater than their hatred for one another.
There are many well intentioned individuals who prefer to ignore reality and just make peace. They, like so many in the Israeli government, feel that everyone wants peace bad enough to make reasonable compromises in order to achieve it. Clearly the government of Israel has always been prepared to do so, and has already done so several times. The problem, which few are prepared to admit, is that the Arab side does not want peace unless, by definition, it means the complete dismantling of the Jewish State. The Arabs have been quite clear about this, yet our leaders refuse to listen. We continue to negotiate with those who simply agree to take what we will give in the hope that they will eventually be able to take the rest by force.
Aside from this observable reality, is the far more significant reality of the very purpose for the existence of a Jewish State in the Land of Israel. Those of us who really believe the Bible as the Word of G-d can easily recognize the reborn Jewish State as the beginning of fulfillment of G-ds Will. How else can one explain the gathering of the most powerful nations in the world in an effort to get the tiny Jewish State to capitulate to her enemies? It is totally irrational. Yet, this too was predicted in the Bible. Eventually those powerful nations will send their gargantuan armies to destroy tiny Israel, and, in so doing, will themselves be destroyed by the Creator of the Universe. This is the reality we would all do well to ponder.
Things are simply not as they appear. This world does not belong to us, rather to our Creator. The Jewish People and the Jewish State were created to show the entire world that our Creator is very real. While many pay lip service to G-d, their actions show that they really do not believe in Him. President George W. Bush has presented himself as a G-d-fearing Christian, yet he has defied G-d by declaring his desire to see Israel divided and sovereignty granted to a foreign enemy entity upon Jewish soil. His road map is blasphemy and has already begun to bring calamity upon the USA.
In Israel too we have leaders who pay lip service to G-d, but demonstrate their lack of belief by their actions. While they feign human compassion upon those who murder our people, and would never consider removing our enemy Arab population from our midst, they have no such compassion upon their own brothers as they arbitrarily uproot entire communities and create Jewish refugees in our own country. They fear American opinion far more then they fear G-d. It is precisely for this reason that we suffer so much tragedy in Israel.
Peace will never result from negotiations with Arab terrorists. It will never come from yielding to demands of an American president. Real peace can and will come only when Jewish Leaders begin to act like Jews and make the Law of G-d the Law of the Land. When George Bush demands that there be a two state solution, we should demand that the Arab state be built in the USA. We have no room in Israel for another Arab state, nor do we have the right to consider such a suggestion. We have an obligation to our G-d to build and settle the entire Land of Israel, whether we want to or not. If Bush is so concerned about creating a homeland for PLO terrorists let him build it in Texas, which has far more room to do so than does the entire Jewish State.
Why are my leaders negotiating our very existence? Jewish leaders are supposed to act in the interest of the Jewish State, and the Jewish People. My leaders are doing neither. If we had real Jewish leaders they would tell the world that the State of Israel is fulfillment of Biblical Prophesy and no one dare interfere with the Divine Process of Jewish return. Our obligation to Divine Commandments supercedes any human demands. Any non-Jewish entity living in the Land of Israel which fails to recognize exclusive Jewish sovereignty to all of the Land of Israel is not welcome to live here. This certainly includes all Arabs who consider themselves to be palestinians.
It is telling that in former negotiations with our enemies, Arab leaders had no trouble refusing to compromise on Land they attributed to their false god. Yet never has a Jewish leader refused to compromise on Commandments of the true Living G-d! Only when this fact changes will genuine peace for all of Mankind be on the horizon.
Project Shofar is dedicated to spreading these truths wherever it is possible to do so. It is sounding the alarm, to Jew and Gentile alike, to open our eyes to the G-dly process that is presently underway, and work to support it. We dare not stand idly on the sidelines.
