The Worst Liar of All is He Who Lies to Himself

Gary Cooperberg
March 10, 2008

The way to achieve peace via negotiations is to sit together with our enemies and find a way to reconcile our differences. That sounds like a reasonable formula, but let’s first honestly consider our differences.

The Arabs want the Jewish State to disappear and be replaced by an Arab one. The Jews only want to live in peace with our Arab neighbors. The best compromise possible to these “differences” seems to be that, if the Arabs agree to stop murdering us we will agree to disappear slowly, on our own terms. Perhaps we can have a Knesset law which will arrange for Jewish Israel to be changed to Arab Palestine and give control to the Arabs.

If this sounds ridiculous to you, as it does to me, then how do you reconcile the stance being taken by our leaders ever since the rebirth of Jewish sovereignty in our ancient homeland? The Arab nations, including those with whom we enjoy an alleged “peace”, have never been willing to accept Jewish sovereignty in the Middle East. They have initiated wars to destroy us and we have apologized for winning (knowing full well that had we lost any war we would have been destroyed). We want so desperately to live in peace with our neighbors that we close our eyes to the reality that they do not want to live with a sovereign Jewish State.

We pretend that it is only the “terrorists” who murder Jews in our homeland. Yet these alleged “terrorists” are the heros of the great majority of Arabs, both inside and outside of Israel. We even have Arab members of Knesset who praise those who murder Jews!

The founders of the modern state of Israel were, at best, self delusionists... at worst outright liars. The war of 1948 was fought to destroy Israel completely. That war is still being waged and we are making peace! Arab citizens of Israel feel no loyalty to this country.

They consider themselves “Palestinians” and are just biding their time until their brothers destroy Israel. I can understand their feelings and even accept them. What I fail to understand is how my alleged leaders do not recognize the futility of trying to force our enemies to accept us as a legitimate nation.

The king of the “peace” fools is Shimon Peres. No amount of terrorist murders can dissuade him from making “peace”. He was the genius who turned mass murderer Arafat into a Nobel Peace Prize Laureate. That truly was an amazing feat. He then proceeded to make him even richer than he already was, and agreed to give him Jewish Land and Jewish guns, allegedly to control the terrorists. He seems to never have noticed how many of those weapons were used to murder innocent Jewish citizens.

Sharon decide to make more peace by giving all of Gaza to the PLO and destroying the Jewish communities there, expelling all Israeli citizens and destroying their lives. Today Gaza is a nest of Arab terror and a base from which missiles are fired into Israel with ever greater frequency, range and accuracy. Innocent Israeli civilians are being murdered and maimed by these attacks while the Israeli Supreme Court refuses to even let us reduce the amount of electricity we send to Gaza.

After all not every Arab is a terrorist. Had Truman followed that ideology in World War II he never would have bombed Japan and the war might still be going on.

Why can our leaders not see that we are at war? We are not fighting with criminal terrorists. We are fighting with ideological enemies who seek our destruction. Why is it that our leadership insists that we have no choice but to continue to live together with those to seek our destruction? That is nothing short of madness, yet this is Israeli policy. To as much as suggest, as did MK Effi Eitan, that our enemies must be deported, is to invite the charge of “racism” . If one hates Arabs merely because they are Arabs, that is racism. But if one insists that Arabs be deported or shot because they are actively working to destroy us, that is not racism. . . it is called sanity.

The citizens of Israel have been blown up on public buses; shot to death in their cars; attacked in restaurants and theaters; massacred in Yeshiva libraries, stabbed and stoned by our equal Arab citizens and our government treats each attack as if it were a unique criminal act rather than a concerted war effort. We have given “peace” far too many chances.

All have failed. It is time to stop the bloodshed and, once and for all, to win the war for our independence. The concept of an Israeli Arab is an oxymoron. Only Jews can be citizens in a Jewish State. Arabs who wish to live in Israel as resident aliens who accept Jewish Sovereignty without reservation are welcome. Those who call themselves “Palestinians” cannot be tolerated.

Until our leaders take off the blinders and recognize the war we are presently losing, we will be forced to endure yet further terror until we stop accepting it and decisively win the war.
