Now is the Time to Choose: Blessing or Curse

Gary Cooperberg
July 7, 2008

As I write this I am finishing up my visit to the states. Wherever I went I could feel the undercurrent of worry and fear for the future.

America and the entire world are in turmoil as the threat of terror looms over us and Islam spreads its tentacles over much of Europe and even the USA. The USA is bogged down in Iraq, the price of oil is going crazy, and the lunatic of Iran is poising to sink the world into nuclear self destruction. In a time such as this we need good, strong leadership. Instead we have fence-sitters who fail to stand up to the challenge. Indeed, the future looks bleak..

In Israel too we have a crisis of non-leadership. Our leaders have made every mistake they could possibly make and then some. Turning loose murderers in exchange for murdered Jewish soldiers teaches our enemies that they have no reason to keep captives alive. Dead Jews are worth just as much as live ones. Such a “humanitarian” gesture is a death sentence to Jewish captives who are still alive.

The Iranian threat is a clear and present danger to the very existence of the Jewish State. It is the responsibility of our leadership to remove that threat as quickly and as thoroughly as possible. Instead they consult with the USA and agree to use “diplomatic means”, which only gives our enemies more time to develop and protect their nuclear program. In times such as this in the past Israel just went and did what it had to do and accepted the condemnations afterwards. Today our leaders are more concerned about the condemnation then they are about the security of our nation!

The bottom line is that those who fail to recognize G-d, will never find a solution. It is only when we turn to G-d that we will find hope and salvation. For the Jew it means denying common sense and rationality, and putting his future in the Hand of G-d by leaving the Exile and coming home. And for the non-Jew in the USA it means doing all in his power to return the fear of G-d to the USA. It was only by including G-d in the establishment of this country that it became the great country it did. Today He is being rejected as being part of our government. Our leaders are virtually pulling out the foundations of America and inviting its self-destruction by so doing. America, unlike Israel, has no Divine guarantee for its future existence. The danger to her future is very real. Redemption comes closer every day, and G-d is watching the nations of the world. Those who defy nature and stand with the tiny Jewish nation, to express their faith in G-d, will survive. The others will not.

Unlike my feckless leaders and so many others, I will never say that we need anyone’s help. It matters not if the whole world turns against us because our G-d will protect us from them. Those among the nations who are truly wise will realize that it is they who need us, not the other way around. “Those who bless you I will bless and he who curses you I will curse and through you will all of the families of the world be blessed”, Gen. 12:3. So keep your eye on Iran and watch as it brings curse upon itself. Only fools curse themselves, especially when they have it in their power to bring blessings.

Project Shofar is dedicated to spreading these truths wherever it is possible to do so. It is sounding the alarm, to Jew and Gentile alike, to open our eyes to the G-dly process that is presently underway, and work to support it. We dare not stand idly on the sidelines.
