Biblical Destiny Clashes with “Modernism”
Gary Cooperberg
July 30, 2008
Americans like to look for the promising knight on horseback to lead the nation. Barak Obama is young and charismatic and projects the hope of change. Yet his rhetoric finds him speaking in circles and changing stories. As all politicians he seeks to please everyone. It has been said that he will not advance his own policy on the Israeli peace process as it would be a “waste of time”. He thus has decided to continue with the Bush policy. Why then should we vote for him? If we want the Bush policy it would be better to vote for McCain.
I really don’t care who is the next president of the United States or even if there will be one. No world leader can be expected to protect and stand with Israel. Until the leadership of the Jewish State understands that we cannot conduct our policies according to the whims of other nations, we will never be a truly independent nation. We are still fighting the war for our independence but refusing to finish it.
We are making “peace” with enemies who still seek our destruction and who use the spoils of peace to weaken us for the kill. We arbitrarily gave away Gaza for peace, at a very high price, and now we are reaping the rewards of that lunacy. And worse, we continue to refuse to recognize our mistake and choose to live with missiles being lobbed into our country from Gaza and watch as their range and accuracy increase!
Our Minister of Defense is seeking to spend millions to buy a defense system to protect us from the missiles rather than take back that which we gave away in error. Instead of undoing our obvious mistake we continue with the error and plan to create even more sanctuaries for terror!
The entire world is entering into an era of chaos. Biblical destiny is being challenged by “modernists” who do not believe in the Living G-d of history, or by those who believe in a different god. Islamic leaders are fanatic proponents of a plan to make the entire world believe as they do. And most other world leaders think that they are able to run the world, without G-d, on their own terms. Both of these views are destined to clash with the reborn Jewish State in the Land of Israel. Even Israeli leaders seem to be challenging their own destiny which only furthers the needless tragedy we face here.
Project Shofar is a small voice which is sounding the alarm in an attempt to wake up those who are willing to listen. I have discovered on my annual visits to the states that more and more people are beginning to recognize that we are living in the beginning of the climax of Biblical destiny. It may be only a drop in the ocean, but Truth will always stand out no matter how overwhelming falsehood may seem. It may seem a futile task, but I will continue to reach out and sound my Shofar wherever I am invited to do so. I may be coming again in the beginning of November if I am called upon.
Project Shofar is dedicated to spreading these truths wherever it is possible to do so. It is sounding the alarm, to Jew and Gentile alike, to open our eyes to the G-dly process that is presently underway, and work to support it. We dare not stand idly on the sidelines.
