A Proposal of Treason
Gary Cooperberg August 19, 2002
It is hard to believe that after all we have been through; all the shooting and bombing; all the murders of our civilian population; the clear intention of our enemies to do all in their power to destroy the Jewish State; that our defense minister can respond by giving our enemies another chance! This action is far more than irresponsible. It is criminal.
We never had any reason to assume that the Arabs wish to live together in peace with us. Oslo was an act of desperation and futility, not reason and good will. It failed at the very outset, yet our leaders chose to ignore their own eyes and ears and to continue with the madness which led to the needless murder of hundreds of our civilian population. We were told that it was just an experiment. We would give them control over Gaza and Jericho first. If that worked we would give them more areas of self rule. Well it didn't work. But our leaders pretended not to notice and continued to give them more and more of our homeland. Not only this, but as our enemies were given these areas with the understanding that they would be given freedom to rule themselves under overall Israeli sovereignty, they chose to ignore those understandings and created a defacto Arab sovereignty over what is now erroneously referred to as "Arab lands"!
Clearly we are in a state of war with those who seek to take our country away from us. To even think about negotiation with such people is treason. It is a clear expression of surrender even before any negotiations begin. Before there can be any thought of negotiations we must first win the war. After we have completely vanquished our enemies we can then give them a simple choice. They can live in Israel as subservient alien residents with no political rights, or they can leave. To offer more than this is to surrender our birthright to our enemies.
How humiliating for our defense minister to sit with our enemies as they continue to murder us and offer to withdraw our forces as an alleged incentive for them to stop. If you want them to stop then you force them to stop. If you beg them to stop they will never stop. We already tried this lunacy called Gaza first and it failed miserably then. To make the same stupid mistake twice is unforgivable. We are engaged in a very real and very dangerous war. We have no right to toy with the lives of our people and the future of our homeland. The IDF is perfectly capable of taking back everything which was given over to our enemies. It is perfectly capable of disarming the Arabs and stopping all terror in our homeland. The only thing preventing it from so doing is the cowardice of our political leaders. We need not apologize to anyone for doing all that we need to do to restore our homeland to our complete control and to vanquish our enemies quickly and brutally. For our leadership to do less is criminal negligence and dereliction of responsibility to the people of Israel. And, even worse, it is a denial of the Divine obligation which rests upon every Jew, and desecration of our G-d, which invites more needless tragedy.
Project Shofar is dedicated to spreading these truths wherever it is possible to do so. It is sounding the alarm, to Jew and Gentile alike, to open our eyes to the G-dly process that is presently underway, and work to support it. We dare not stand idly on the sidelines.
