If It Were Easy, Everyone Would Be Doing It

With new elections coming up in Israel; with President Bush preparing to attack Iraq; and with the threat of international terror growing daily, perhaps now is not the best time to plan a visit to Israel.
This seems to be a logical stance, and thus probably the reason why tourism in Israel is at an all time low. But, one thing that sets Israel apart from the nations of the world is the fact that logic seldom applies here. Those who understand that Israel is fulfillment of Biblical prophesy, and not merely another country, also understand that her isolation is also part of her destiny. Only those who truly believe in G-d understand that the challenges before us are merely opportunities for us to express our faith in and love for the Living G-d of Creation.
How amazing it is that today it is possible to go on a vacation, have a wonderful time, and also very clearly demonstrate our faith in G-d! The more people are afraid to come to Israel, the greater the faith of those who stand up and come right now. It is okay to be afraid. But true courage is overcoming our fear and doing what is right in spite of the fear and the real danger involved.
To be honest, after September 11 no one knows where or how to escape from terror. People were murdered in Maryland for the crime of stopping at a gas station! We in Israel understand the pain of terror. Yet we have learned that the only way to honestly fight terror is to defy it. We must do exactly the opposite of what the terrorists want us to do. They want us to cringe in fear and hide under our beds. Instead we swallow our fear and continue to live our lives as normally as possible.
I will be visiting in the states in another three weeks to offer good people the opportunity to express their faith in G-d and bless Israel by coming for a visit this March. To be honest, my wife and mother are both very worried for my safety while away from home. I will be traveling all over the country, and, with my kipa on my head will make an easy target for Moslem extremists. I only hope that my example will encourage others not to be afraid and to sign up for our very special tour of the Land of Israel.
