With Friends, Peace Partners and Jewish leaders like these . . .
Gary Cooperberg March 14, 2002
It was heartwarming to listen to the esteemed secretary general of the United Nations unilaterally declare that Israel is illegally occupying land in her own country, and that the PLO has an inalienable right to an independent state with clear and recognizable borders on Jewish soil. One can only wonder how it is possible for any respectable leader to make such brash statements which have absolutely no basis either in law or morality. By what right does Mr. Annan serve notice on a sovereign country that it must give away part of its homeland to an enemy which seeks to take it from us by force? No nation has a legitimate claim on any of the Land of Israel other than the Jewish people. Even the state of Jordan is an illegitimate entity squatting upon Jewish soil.
It is more than hypocritical for the government of the United States, which is allegedly conducting a war on terror, to suggest to the government of Israel that it must make accommodations in order to placate terrorists even as they murder civilians in our towns and cities. There can be no negotiations with terror. We do not need nor do we want General Zinni to come back to Israel. Whenever such "peace" emissaries arrive we are rewarded with a greater number of terrorist attacks and murders since the PLO realizes that Israel is less likely to counter attack when a US peacemaker is in the neighborhood.
The world has never loved Jews, and it is not about to change course now. The very existence of a Jewish State arouses anger, hatred and jealousy among the majority of the nations of the world. The Jewish people and the Jewish State are both living proof of the existence of the Creator of the Universe. Leaders, like Annan, prefer to preach their own brand of morality rather than recognize the fact that this world is really controlled by G-d. Bush must be made to understand that, in spite of the fact that he wants to enlist support from Saudi Arabia and other Arab countries, he will never win his war against terror by working with terrorist governments. But, even more important, he should realize that any US policy which endangers the Jewish State will end up placing the United States in grave danger. For any entity which deliberately seeks to weaken Israel is spitting in the face of the Living G-d of Israel and inviting Divine retribution.
Just as the nations of the world will be held accountable for their treatment of the Jewish State, so too will be the leaders of Israel. When they conduct national policy out of fear of the nations rather than fear of G-d, it is they who invite the horrors which we face here every day. We are in a state of war. It is a war for our very survival. According to Jewish morality, when someone comes to murder you, it is your obligation to rise up and kill the attacker first. It is not moral to give the attacker the right to try to kill you before you act. The Arab enemy has made it absolutely clear that he intends to destroy Israel, even if he has to murder one Jew at a time. This is not a theoretical concept, rather one that is already being implemented. We have no right to as much as consider negotiating with such an enemy. We have an obligation to completely destroy this enemy before it murders any more of our people. The Arabs of Israel must be given a choice. Either leave or perish. And this choice must be made abundantly clear. After announcing this choice we should completely demolish Ramallah and all of its inhabitants. This town has always been a nest of terror and murder as it continues to be. After this town is wiped out we will give the rest of the Arabs twenty-four hours to leave or face more of the same. I have little doubt that they will leave. Nor do I care where they choose to go. If neighboring countries try to close their borders to the new emigres the IDF will open them.
Of course the world press will go crazy. Of course Coby Annan will condemn us. Of course the United Nations will issue resolutions demanding our retreat. So what? They are already doing all of the above. There are those who will claim that the Arab world will go to war and destroy us. My reply is that the Arab world will go to war to destroy us the moment they feel capable of so doing. They are growing more certain of this every day as we fold to terror. If they would see an Israel which is not afraid of destroying her enemies they wouldn't dare attack us.
The bottom line is that we must recognize, aside from the normal instinctive desire to survive, that the Jewish People and the Jewish State have a Divine purpose. We are not merely another country. We were placed here by the Creator of the Universe to be an example to the nations of the world. We are living proof of His existence. When we back down to threats and pressures we are failing and desecrating our G-d. It is as if we are declaring that we do not believe in G-d. For this we bring punishment upon our own heads. If, on the other hand, we were to face every impossible challenge with strength gained from our faith in G-d, and stand, against the entire world if necessary, to further the real interests of the Jewish State, then no power in the world would have any success against us. If we had genuine faith in G-d and in our role in this world we could bring instant peace and see an immediate glorious redemption.
Peace will not be found in Washington, Oslo, Cairo or Madrid. Peace will emanate from the holy city of Jerusalem the minute Jewish leaders begin to act as proud Jews.
