No One Negotiates His Homeland

Gary Cooperberg
May 19, 2003

It truly amazes me to read all of the impressive arguments against the road map and against continuing to negotiate with the PLO. Why do so many people express surprise that the PLO continues to murder Jews? Why do they expect them to do otherwise? And how can any rational person as much as hope that any self-respecting PLO leadership would agree to live in peace with an Israel of any size? And why should any self respecting Jew want to live in "peace" with our murderers?

What if Abu Mazen didn't finance the Munich massacre? What if he were really sorry for murdering Jews? What if he was really a nice guy and truly wanted to stop terror and make peace? What if he would give up the request for refugees to return? What if he really wanted to live in peace, side by side with Israel? Are any of these reasons for us to allocate any part of our holy inheritance to non Jews?

Let's just stop for a minute and think about what is really happening here. The Arab nations have never forgiven us for winning the war and proclaiming statehood on what they claim to be Islamic soil. They have waged wars against us with the goal of destroying the Jewish state and have consistently failed to accomplish their aim. Discovering the fact that no Arab nation or combination thereof is able to defeat Israel militarily, a new plan was created. Seeing how Jews worshiped the concept of democracy and tried so hard to show the world how they welcomed Arabs as equal citizens, they decided to push the concept one step further by claiming a new peoplehood. They used the term "Palestine" to give a sense of legitimacy to this claim of indigenous sovereignty to a nation which never existed! Amazingly enough this hoax actually worked! Today we have most nations, including the Jewish State, paying lip service to a total fraud!

To further the cause of this "poor downtrodden people", an uprising was staged in which the common people rose up and attacked Jewish civilians in a bid for a recognition of Arab sovereign rights in Israel. Rather than put down this mini revolution, the government of Israel chose not to take it seriously and to "weather the storm" in the hope that it would go away by itself. Instead of going away, the image of women and children throwing rocks at soldiers and tanks created an underdog image on the world stage and lent a sense of honor and respectability to this new entity called the "Palestinian". As a result of this new political creation which has gained world wide support, the Jewish State feels impelled to at least make token efforts to placate the demands of her "minority" so as not to appear racist.

The fact that all of this pomp and ceremony, backed up by a literal war of attrition by terrorist suicide murderers, is nothing more than a creative attempt to continue the Arab effort to destroy the Jewish State seems to have escaped the notice of all parties (other than the Arabs).

The question we should be asking is not, "Will Abu Mazen stop terror and sit with Israel to make peace?" The only question should be, "Why are we not physically putting an end to terror by removing all of the terrorists and their supporters?" The question we should be asking is not, "Should we expel Arafat?" The question should be, "Why do we not arrest Arafat, try him for mass murder, and then hang him in Ramallah?"

The fact that the Arab world understands, better than most Jews, that Israel was always destined to be a Jewish State, is an embarrassment. If we Jews choose to reject our holy mission, and to deny our G-d, then we give our Arab enemies reason to hope that maybe our G-d will reject us. All of the world is looking to us to fulfill our role. They, for the most part, do fear the Jewish G-d. But if they look at the Jewish People and see that they do not believe in their own destiny, then they too begin to question it. By failing to live up to our obligations as Jews we cause humiliation to G-d and thus invite Divine Wrath upon ourselves.

George Bush's "vision" of two states standing side by side in peace is nothing more than a hallucination. It cannot happen and it will not happen. Biblical destiny decrees otherwise. Yes, there are tremendous political forces at play behind the scenes which pressure world leaders to do things they would prefer not to do. But all world leaders would do well to understand that they are in the positions they hold by the Will of G-d. If they choose to forget this and defy the Will of G-d it is they who invite tragedy upon their own countries. Sharon would do well to ponder this fact as well.

If Sharon really wanted to bring true peace to this planet he would tell Mr. Bush that our Bin Laden lives in Ramallah. Rather than give him diplomatic immunity, he should arrest him and publicly try him for crimes against humanity, and then execute him as well as all who support him. Israel should, once and for all, declare its independence as the Jewish State, granting citizenship to Jews alone. Foreigners who wish to live here must adhere to the laws of the land and pay homage to exclusive Jewish sovereignty here. That is the only "road map" that will bring true peace.

Project Shofar is dedicated to spreading these truths wherever it is possible to do so. It is sounding the alarm, to Jew and Gentile alike, to open our eyes to the G-dly process that is presently underway, and work to support it. We dare not stand idly on the sidelines.
