Will G-d Continue to Bless America?
Gary Cooperberg
September 17, 2002

Nationalism is also ideology. Democracy seems to be killing it. America is losing sight of where to draw lines, and thus losing her identity as she tries to please everyone. In the end she will not only fail to please anyone, but will lose the pride and security of having the unique American ideology upon which the United States was founded.

I think that the bottom line here is G-d. G-d was included by the founding fathers of the United States as a working partner in its creation. As modern America seeks to end this partnership, it is courting disaster. It is only because of that special relationship that America has been the leader of the free world. How ironic that the events of September 11, which really were an expression of hatred of the G-dly principles of the United States, have strengthened expressions of nationality, yet failed to strengthen Biblical morality upon which this country was founded.

The future of the United States is not threatened by terrorists. It is threatened by a distorted application of democracy which sees us throwing G-d out of America. If an individual American chooses not to believe in G-d, that is his democratic right. But this right, in no way, can justify the denial of displaying the Ten Commandments in a court room, the removal of "under G-d" from the pledge of allegiance, or the recognition, on a national scale, that G-d is our partner in all that we do, and that it is only through His grace that we prosper. If we fail to maintain this basic standard which American patriots accepted as part and parcel of American national ideology, then the future of the United States of America is in clear and real danger.

Included in expressing faith in G-d is the recognition that the Jewish State of Israel is the beginning of fulfillment of Biblical prophesy. In spite of the fact that my leaders have yet to live up to our destined role on this planet, the rebirth of the Jewish State in the Land of Israel is a clear indication that redemption is well underway. Although America has no obligation to support the state of Israel as a political entity, its future depends upon its standing with Israel as a Biblical entity. Even if the prime minister of Israel speaks of a PLO state on Jewish soil, because this is a denial of Biblical prophesy, it is wrong for the United States to support such a concept. Peace can never result from denying G-dly principles. Especially at this point in time, when the United States has overwhelming evidence that Islamic ideology, including that of the PLO, is at war with American ideology, clearly the President of the United States must not give any credence to claims of legitimacy by this fabricated element whose sole reason for being is to destroy the Jewish State.

Now is the time for America to take a stand of courage and G-dliness. If she fails she only dooms herself.
